Enjoy nonstop action in this popular first-person shooter that was designed and released by Activision.

Even though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was built on an older game engine, this aging title is still quite a bit of fun. In addition to the action-packed multiplayer games, you can also play a bloody campaign that pits you against a ring of international terrorists. Call of Duty: MW3 has stood the test of time, and it is a great game for those who are getting tired of modern titles or anyone who is playing on an older device.

Just like all of the other games in this series, MW3 is a first-person shooter that lets you control a powerful soldier who is equipped with cutting-edge equipment and weapons. The mechanics of this game are incredibly crisp, and it doesn’t feel like there is any lag when the trigger is pulled or explosives are used. While the graphics are relatively generic and this was built on an older game engine, the overall design is still eye-catching and engaging. The sound effects are expertly done as well, and the nonstop explosions and NPC chatter will help you remain immersed in each match and level.

During the campaign itself, you are going to take control of various team members in the renowned Task Force 141. Throughout the game, you will hunt down dozens of enemies that made appearances in previous Modern Warfare titles as well as some new evil characters. You must also briefly take control of a civilian in London during a chemical terrorist attack, but that short scene was only added for dramatic purposes. The campaign is broken up into a few different acts, and the story is relatively generic and linear.

MW3’s campaign might be fairly bland, but the other game modes are sure to keep you entertained for quite some time. Just like many other first-person shooters, you can hop online and play a wide variety of matches ranging from CTF to generic deathmatches. The primary feature that sets Modern Warfare 3 apart from many other first-person shooters is the Pointstreak system. That system is similar to the Killstreaks from the previous Call of Duty games, but it is much more difficult to unlock rewards. Whenever you kill an enemy or complete an objective, you are awarded one or more points. If you die, then your points are reset to zero. Once you have received enough points, you can unlock powerful upgrades and strike packages.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has also changed the ranking and unlocking systems that were found in previous CoD titles. Your primary weapon is going to rank up alongside you, and you can unlock new packages for that weapon by winning games and completing achievements. MW3 has included a new Prestige Shop as well, and that shop allows players to unlock additional perks such as double experience and custom weapon classes. Prestige points can be acquired in the game itself or purchased separately.

One of the reasons why this game has continued to be popular for so many years is because it has a variety of game types to choose from. Team deathmatch is the game type that most players prefer, but you can also play team defender and infected matches. Support for private servers has waned over the last few years, but players still have the option of creating custom matches on their own servers as well.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 broke multiple awards over the last few years. This title's eye-catching graphics are nothing to scoff at, and the various game types give MW3 excellent replayability. You are sure to have hours of fun playing through the explosive campaign or competing against players from around the world. The local and online split-screen options are very enticing as well, and you can sit down with up to four friends at once with a single copy of the game. If you have been on the search for an older FPS that has stood the test of time, then you should take a look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
